WELCOME TO SAN BENITO ROAD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Check out our new Web Page!  July 1 will be our official redirection date!

San Benito Road Elementary School staff, in cooperation with the San Benito Community, is dedicated to providing opportunities for all students to excel in a safe and positive environment. We value each of our students as individuals and believe that our academic program can be the key to a successful school experience. Our students will develop critical thinking skills, gain respect for intercultural differences, have a sense of purpose in their lives and leave San Benito Road Elementary School as lifelong learners who will be knowledgeable, responsible citizens.

HAPPY MARCH!

Well, March is upon us already!  We are a busy bunch this month.  Over five hundred children in one school, we are always a busy bunch full of lots of learning and fun!

We are accepting kindergarten registrations for the next school year, 2015-16.  If you have a student that will be of kindergarten age, or know someone who does, please visit our school office for an enrollment packet.  We are very excited to welcome our upcoming kindergartners and know they will be happy and well cared for here at San Benito
Elementary School.  Please turn in your packet as soon as possible, as this helps us plan for staffing needs next year.  This is our planning season, so accurate information about student enrollment is essential for our school.  Thank you for your cooperation!

We will begin our SBAC testing this month as well.  This testing is for our third through sixth grade students.  The testing window goes from March 11, through the end of school.  Check with your teacher to find out what dates your child’s class will be assessed.  What can you do to approach test taking with your kiddos?  Here are some tips!
*Make sure your child does their homework and reads daily.
*Get a good night sleep the night before the test.
*Ensure your child has a healthy breakfast.
*Talking about the test with your child can relieve stress about test taking.
*Get up early and don’t be late to school.
*Set your doctor appointments after school so that your child does not miss a test.
*Encourage your child—be their best cheerleader...

Finally, parent conference week is upon us!  Mark your calendar for the week of March 9—13.  Students will be dismissed at 1:20 p.m.  It is very important to attend your child’s conference, and spend time learning about how your child is doing at school.  Thanks for being an involved parent!  We love it...
